ORIGIN

Saugaht Foundation originated in the Palamu district of Jharkhand when a group of like-minded youths and social activists began working together to undertake small welfare initiatives that exposed some specific social needs of the area. Their initial focus was on initiating development activities in rural areas of the Husainabad Block of Palamu district, and they continued to do various social development activities by organizing lower cast and tribal villagers. Eventually, this group established itself as a new NGO, registered as a 'Legal Trust' in 2005, and named 'Saugaht Foundation'. Today, it is a non-political, non-religious, and non-profit humanitarian organization that has gained high credibility in Jharkhand. The organization is efficiently managed by a governing body comprising reputable persons and social activists.
