A FEW SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS

Successful Projects: Activities

GLOBAL AWARD WINNER  OF

INNOVATION IN EDUCATION CONTEST’

ASHA FOR EDUCATION

STANFORD CHAPTER, USA

Saugaht Foundation has been the winner of Global Award for its creative project model, ‘Open-field Pre-school for tribal kids’ which has been a remarkable achievement of our organization in the ‘Innovation in Education Contest’, promoted by ‘Asha for Education’- Stanford Chapter, USA. The project was designed to organize 20 preschools for 600 underprivileged socially isolated tribal infants. Those preschools were located in the forest fringe remote villages in tribal-dominated Ramgarh block in Palamu district in Jharkhand. The innovative idea of promoting cost-effective schools without any school-building and classes without any classroom made this project unique. Direct assistance and guidance from the project teachers enabled the beneficiaries to get admission in standard-I in local formal primary schools in the mainstream society. Our organization completed this project successfully.

‘PRE-PRIMARY EDUCATION FOR THE TRIBAL CHILDREN

Saugaht Foundation established a pre-primary school in 2014 for 50 underprivileged tribal children of 3-5 years to give them a stepping stone of education. The school is located in Path village under Phakiradih Panchayat in Bhandariya, Block in Garhwa district of Jharkhand. These little children are provided with standard and elementary education. Methodology of joyful learning by singing-dancing and playing is being followed. We also provide breakfast and lunch to all of our students. Apart from these, we appointed a doctor who has been visiting the school in regular schedule to provide health check-up of each and every student. Medicines have been served among the children as and when required. Running cost of this project is being supported by Asha for Education, USA through its San Francisco chapter.
